Oradea Transport Local (OTL) is making substantial changes in tram traffic, aiming to meet the needs expressed by its loyal passengers. After the resumption of tram traffic last September, we took into account the feedback and suggestions received from passengers and initiated a process to evaluate and optimize our services.
Following an experimental period, during which we collaborated with a specialized company and closely analyzed the needs of our travelers, OTL announces some significant changes. These changes are aimed at improving the quality of services and providing a more pleasant and efficient travel experience.
Starting Monday, February 19, 2024, we will implement the following changes:
1. Route optimization: We will introduce 8 routes (with direct lines and circular lines) to facilitate connections between key points in the city and reduce travel time.
2. Changing the interval of the succession of trams: We will significantly reduce the waiting periods in the stations, so that the arrivals will follow each other in 3 - 6 minutes during peak hours on working days with school.
3. Changing and simplifying the names of the lines: To help all travelers, we will simplify and adjust the names of the lines, for a better understanding of the routes.
These changes will come into effect on Monday, February 19, 2024, with the school holidays, to give travelers the opportunity to adjust to the new routes. In addition, in order to facilitate the accommodation of travelers, with the new routes, in the coming period we will return with information for each individual line on our online communication channels (OTL Oradea application, www.otl.ro, Facebook, Instagram).
We want to bring more comfort and efficiency to your travels and we are happy to respond to the needs expressed by our community. We continue to work hard to ensure a pleasant and safe travel experience for all residents of our beloved city.
