The Oradea Local Transport Company (OTL) announces the opening of the OTL driving school, an initiative designed to offer new opportunities and quality in the training of drivers in Oradea and within the OTL team.
Starting this September, the OTL driving school aims to respond to the new realities of the city and improve the services offered to citizens. The decision to open this school was made with the idea of developing a new approach regarding the development of public transport activities in Oradea.
One of the solutions brought by the OTL driving school is to offer the chance for tramdrivers to work as bus drivers or for bus drivers to work as tramdrivers. This approach comes in the context in which the modernization works of the city may sometimes require the suspension of tram traffic and their replacement by buses, but above all for the flexibility of the workforce within the company. For OTL employees, this switch between tramdriver and bus driver is not mandatory.
Moreover, the OTL driving school is also open to residents of Oradea who wish to obtain a driver's license for categories TV (tram) and D (vehicle intended for the transport of passangers with more than 8 seats). The courses are taught by 2 law professors and 3 instructors with experience in the field.
The duration of the courses is 11 weeks, with 122 hours of theory (including road legislation, specific legislation, ecological and preventive driving, first aid, vehicle knowledge and maintenance) and 60 hours of practice, during which a minimum of 600 kilometres will be run.
The prices for the courses are as follows:
• TV category (tram) - 8,786 lei + VAT.
• Category D, with three options:
• For exclusive owners of category B - 5,546 lei + VAT.
• For owners of category C, less than 1 year old - 3,782 lei + VAT.
• For owners of category C, older than 1 year - 3,026 lei + VAT.
Entry requirements include a minimum age of 24 years. For category TV (tram), possession of category B is not mandatory, while for category D, possession of category B is mandatory.
Those interested in signing up can submit their requests to the OTL office, located on Atelierelor street. Required documents include a written request specifying the category for which registration is desired, a copy of your ID and a copy of your driver's license (if applicable).
OTL invites all those interested to take advantage of this opportunity to develop their skills as a driver or to become a tramdriver in a professional and quality-oriented environment.
